Jeff Agee is Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Secretary of Bluescape Energy Partners and Controller and Corporate Secretary of Bluescape Resources Company. In this capacity, Agee reviews all capital and operating expenditures, oversees all aspects of the Company’s accounting, internal control, and financial reporting activities, helps lead the annual audit process, and provides key support to the Company’s human resource processes.
Prior to Bluescape, Agee spent 18 years at TXU, now known as Energy Future Holdings, where he held various positions in SEC reporting, accounting research, latent asset management, financial planning, and performance management. Agee served as Principal Financial Officer for the unregulated Generation Development Construction business unit, where he was responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of all back-office functions related to the accounting, reporting, financial planning, and performance management supporting the construction of over $3 billion of coal-fired electric generation. For 18 months, Agee led a corporate-wide, multi-disciplinary team tasked with identifying and realizing in excess of $200 million of earnings and incremental cash flow from the optimization of various “miscellaneous” corporate assets previously considered insignificant. Prior to the deregulation of the electric utility industry in Texas, Agee served as TXU’s tax accounting witness before the Public Utility Commission of Texas, where he helped preserve the recovery of over $1 billion in tax-related regulatory assets during transition to deregulation. Also, during the lead up to deregulation, Agee co-managed the transition and implementation of all accounting, reporting, planning, and performance reporting functions of TXU’s risk management and commodity trading business a small natural gas trading shop in Houston, to TXU’s multi-billion dollar electricity and natural gas trading and risk management business unit based in Dallas. Agee worked for several years in TXU’s SEC financial reporting function, where he assisted in all aspects of the Company’s SEC reporting activities and served as the company’s lead accounting research and generally accepted accounting principles in-house expert for its regulated business.
Agee earned a bachelor of business administration in accounting from Abilene Christian University in 1987. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the AICPA and Texas Society of CPAs.
