Matthew Herpich is a Vice President of Bluescape Energy Partners and Bluescape Resources Company and a Director of Parallel Resource Partners. In this capacity, Herpich is responsible for providing analytical and technical support to ongoing portfolio company operations and to due diligence for prospective transactions. Herpich also co-leads the Parallel quarterly valuation process and the investor relations effort for both Parallel and Bluescape Energy Partners.
Since joining Bluescape in 2012, Herpich has maintained an active supervisory role on the majority of Bluescape’s and Parallel’s investments, focusing primarily on the Marcellus, Eagle Ford, and Mississippi Lime projects, Nautilus Resources, Phalanx Petroleum, Arrow Rock Energy, and the Edison Mission Energy engagement. Collectively, these projects have represented over $700 million of invested capital with over $800 million of cumulative distributions to date.
Prior to Bluescape, Herpich worked as an Analyst in the Public Finance Group within Citi’s Investment Banking Division. At Citi, Herpich was directly responsible for the issuance of over $2 billion of municipal bonds and the execution of over $1 billion of interest rate swaps for six of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in the United States. Herpich was also a Senior Analyst at Commonfund Capital, a $12 billion asset management firm focused on managing the private capital investments of various not-for-profit entities. At Commonfund, Herpich recommended over $200 million of new transactions in venture capital and private equity and played an instrumental role in developing Commonfund’s custom account and venture co-investment strategies.
Herpich earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Yale University, where he graduated cum laude, and he is currently pursuing a master of science in information technology from Carnegie Mellon University.
